MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

Hello, I'm Scott Sauls!

Scott Sauls is an American pastor, author, teacher, and leadership coach based in Nashville, Tennessee. He has over 30 years of experience preaching, planting churches, keynote speaking, and teaching seminars.

Originally leading congregations in Kansas City and St. Louis, he later served at Redeemer Presbyterian in NYC under Tim Keller before becoming the Senior Pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville in 2012.

Scott has authored several widely respected books including A Gentle Answer, Befriend, Irresistible Faith, Beautiful People Don’t Just Happen, and Jesus Outside the Lines, in which he advocates for grace‑filled engagement over partisan polarization.

He has been candid about personal struggles with anxiety, ambition, and the pitfalls of high‑achiever tendencies—turning vulnerability into strengths that inform his teaching on leadership and spiritual formation.
